is a handcrafted series that explores the organic beauty of Arabic letterforms through block printing and embroidery. Each piece features hand-carved Arabic letters, printed onto fabric with rich textures and layered with intricate embroidery. Embroidery stitches weave through and around the letters mimicking the fluidity of calligraphy while adding depth and dimension. Stretched into a frame, the piece becomes a fusion of print and thread—celebrating†the tactile and rhythmic harmony between language and craftsmanship, while reconnecting people to the stars.

Istighatha is a triptych artwork, with each tapestry representing a step in the process of praying, receiving, and bearing blessings. The work features verses from the Nabati poem Al Istighatha ("To Seek Help") by renowned

poet Mohsen Al-Hazani.

In Arabian culture, this form of poetry serves as a collective storytelling

tradition, capturing the community's journey toward performing Salat

al-Istisqa (the prayer for rain). The poem reflects on the emotional experiences of life in the desert and the hardships endured during times

of drought.

Pixelated artwork was created to commemorate Qatar Sports Day with a focus on solidarity through movement. The piece blends retro digital aesthetics with powerful cultural symbolism, portraying pixel-style runners in motion across a stylized Qatari landscape.

Running figures are animated mid-stride, each stride a tribute to endurance and unity. The Palestinian flag is subtly integrated into the visual elements woven into the runners’ attire, trails, or background patterns representing strength, resilience, and the spirit of support through sport.

Migration Memories is the result of a multi-year research project developed by VCUarts’ (In)>Tangible Lab. Gathering and using existing archived and recorded memories, photos, films and oral histories, Mapping Migration Memories captures the historical biannual nomadic movements between the desert and the sea in Qatar.
The (IN)>TANGIBLE_LAB responds to the movement to confront significant societal issues. As the world becomes increasingly homogenized, Intangible Cultural Heritage (ICH) elements are vulnerable to being lost or forgotten. (IN)>TANGIBLE_LAB of VCUARTS Qatar seeks to preserve and extend Living Culture and with an emphasis on Traditional ecological Knowledge of Qatar into the future.

For centuries, the people of the Arabian Peninsula have used the stars to navigate their journeys and track natural and seasonal cycles.

Suhail is the second-brightest star in the constellation and held great significance for the people of Qatar and the larger Arabian Peninsula, as it marked the end of summer and the arrival of cooler months.

This project highlights stargazing and its historical role in connecting people to the rhythms of nature and traditional ways of being and knowing. Inspired by traditional Islamic sacred geometry and Kufic calligraphy, I create a series of experimental blocks that fuse Arabic poetry with intricate pixel patterns. These blocks are then used to print on fabric, forming endless combinations and configurations—tapestries woven with pattern and poetry.
